All The Secrets of Essential Oil of Lavender
Lavender and I have a long history of hate-love relationships. For a long time, I sincerely did not understand why someone would love the frosty freshness full of woody like fragrance, this soft but foggy sensation it caused inside lungs.
So, it took me around five years to understand the rich aroma of lavender and learn to appreciate all the healing properties it has.
I was truly surprised to know that lavender has been one of the strongest and highly valued medicines even since the ancient times.
Ancient Greeks and Romans, for example, used lavender oil as a protection from epidemics and other infectious diseases. They also used lavender to clean air and as a disinfectant for wounds and burns.
In traditional medicine, lavender oil was applied to treating migraine, neurasthenia, cardiovascular disease, and even kidney diseases.
For many centuries, lavender was used as medicine for muscle pain and toothaches.
These days, lavender is well known as the best natural antidepressant and quite often used as an addition to treating emotional disorders such as depression, insomnia, anxiousness, and stress.
Lavender oil is also great for elimination of hormonal disorders and has a beneficial effect on pregnancy.
As one of the strongest antibacterial oils, it helps to relieve inflammation in skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema and other forms of dermatitis, soothes burn pain and stimulates healing.
